Analysis

I believe that gender and sexuality is important to know and to learn because of what lessons and realizations it brings. There are people still finds it confusing between the difference of gender, sex and sexuality. That’s why this aspects should be properly addressed in the school. Gender means it is the distinction with the associated given sex that has been noticeable in social or cultural norms. Sex is the physical or biological traits a person gets upon birth. Sexuality is the people’s sexual interest or attraction to others. Therefore gender and sexuality are centrally important forces that shape every aspect of our lives.

Analysis

It has been thought that under this topic psychosocial perspective in gender and sexuality the different definition and theory of love. This has defined and described different forms of love and from these descriptions, the role of attraction, attachment, commitment and caregiving appears to be relevant and consistent in all forms of love. Studying psychosocial can have an important role in protecting against negative outcomes and promotes well being. And that individuals and social relationships are important at each stages of development.

Module 4: Stereotype, Prejudice & Discrimination

Activity 4

Analysis

I believe this module is essential especially ever since this issue is increasing. Stereotype, prejudice and discrimination has been circulating the media and society that it affects individual. People are often biased against others outside of their own social group, showing prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination. By studying this topic, it would help people in diminishing the negative traits they are consciously doing like that of bias and they would be properly taught and knowledgeable. Thus, as a learner this has been a proper  avenue in spreading love and not adding more to hate but then this issue up making stereotypes and discrimination.

Module 5: Men & Masculinities

Activity 5

Analysis

The importance of studying men and masculinities is that I, as a female can be open minded with this issue that men can also receive judgment and gender violence incidents and that they can be a victim too. Most law are protecting women only and that men are always seen as a strong one when in fact they also don’t. It is essential to provide a broader rationale for the inclusion of men and masculinity in to society as for gaining respect and equality too.

Module 6: Gender-based Violence

Activity 6

Analysis

It is vital for children to learn about gender equality just at it is important to promote violence against women. Studying this module, gender based violence will awaken people’s mind on the dangerous matters regarding this. Gender based violence targets individuals or groups on the basis of their gender. Promoting education on gender based violence to reduce the stigma within the community is important period to empower both genders, to recognize their worth and to prevent harmful acts and adverse effects.

Module 7: Women and the Law

Activity 7

Analysis

The empowerment and autonomy of women and the improvement of their status is a highly important matter. In concerning to low, I am glad that women are highly regarded as an important person which plays a role in the society that every law provides protection on them. The child and the woman are safe. There is a comprehensive woman’s human rights law that seeks to eliminate discrimination through recognition, protection, fulfillment, and promotion of every women.

Module 8: Laws and Policies on Violence & Discrimination of the members of LGBTQ+

Activity 8

Analysis

All people have an equal right to live free from violence, persecution, discrimination and stigma regardless of gender and sexuality. Sexual orientation and gender identity are integral aspects of ourselves and should never lead to violence, discrimination or abuse. Since Philippines is a religious country, this factor also adds up to making judgments on these third sex and LGBTQ + people. There are laws and policies existing that protects them whether the sexual orientation they have period let us educate ourselves and be mindful of the words and things we said to other people.

Module 9: Gender Inequality in Marriage & other relevant laws

Activity 9

Analysis

Marriage is the beginning and a lifelong commitment. It’s more than a physical union. In the Philippines, it is viewed as a sacred and be done between two people having consent and committed to each other. But the rights of people in marriage seems unfair on women. When it comes to property, decisions or authority it is always the man who have most of it. This reflects how our society is patriarchal. Men dominates the family decisions even after marriage. It highlights that changes in women’s roles have been more comprehensive. There is an increasing awareness of issues like this family is seeing. The changes being interconnected and is always sided on men in particular.
